My kid.

I thought I would post a picture of my "kid". My sister in law calls her her fur baby niece. I know I am biased but isn't she the cutest!

BIG project

Here is my first big project for my current company. I think it is pretty cool that i had the chance to do something like this and I love my company for giving me the opportunity to do some heavy duty designing along with the marketing.

Fashion

Here is my attempt at FASHION. I love to follow fashion and I get a lot of inspiration from other bloggers who "are" fashion. I thought I would embrace big city livin' and try something other than jeans. Well that and jeans are for Fridays.

Navy Blue faux wrap shirt - JCPenney
Off white Sheath Dress - Marshall's
Huge Bead Pearls - thrifted
Boots- DSW

My rockin winter hat! - Herberger's
Dumb expression - Talking on the phone to my sister who wanted this picture so she could see how "big city her lil sis is"

Family

What a family. This is my dad and his siblings with their parents on the eve of my Grandma's surprise 80th birthday party.

Hey!

What a girl!

Jayboo

Looking like such a little person. One day they are a baby and then next they are saying "Jus kitdin'" and winking at their uncle.

The cutie

My sister owes me. I mean I make her kids look soooooo good.

Not quite there yet

So I stole this list from a fellow blogger and I thought it was interesting. I might need to edit this post when I am not running into a training session.

The ones I can check-off as completed are the red ones. Good thing I have five years left!

By 30, you should have:

1. One old boyfriend you can imagine going back to and one who reminds you of how far you’ve come.

2. A decent piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family.

3. Something perfect to wear if the employer or man of your dreams wants to see you in an hour.

4. A purse, a suitcase and an umbrella you’re not ashamed to be seen carrying.

5. A youth you’re content to move beyond.

6. A past juicy enough that you’re looking forward to retelling it in your old age.

7. The realization that you are actually going to have an old age—and some money set aside to help fund it.

8. An e-mail address, a voice mailbox and a bank account—all of which nobody has access to but you. The bank accounts were mine first... does that count?

9. A résumé that is not even the slightest bit padded.

10. One friend who always makes you laugh and one who lets you cry. SIS THAT"S YOU!

11. A set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill and a black lace bra.

12. Something ridiculously expensive that you bought for yourself, just because you deserve it.

13. The belief that you deserve it.

14. A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine and a plan for dealing with those few other facets of life that don’t get better after 30.

15. A solid start on a satisfying career, a satisfying relationship and all those other facets of life that do get better.

By 30, you should know:

1. How to fall in love without losing yourself.

2. How you feel about having kids.

3. How to quit a job, break up with a man and confront a friend without ruining the friendship.

4. When to try harder and when to walk away.

5. How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next.

6. The names of: the secretary of state, your great-grandmother and the best tailor in town.

7. How to live alone, even if you don’t like to.

8. How to take control of your own birthday.

9. That you can’t change the length of your calves, the width of your hips or the nature of your parents.

10. That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s over.

11. What you would and wouldn’t do for money or love.

12. That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs or not flossing for very long.

13. Who you can trust, who you can’t and why you shouldn’t take it personally.

14. Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault.

15. Why they say life begins at 30.

Fashion is Love

So this blog started out as a way to show off my work to prospective employers but since I have found the AWESOME bloggers who show off their fashion, I have turned my blog into a "fashion tracker" to steal ideas (I mean get inspiration) from those who blog their fashion daily.
THANKS!
Maybe someday when I get ambitious I will join the ranks and let me long distance sis live vicariously through my blog!

Graduation Shots

This is a collage of graduation
shots that I took. All of the shots
are of course taken outside.
I did not have a very willing
subject so all are using natural
light and a lack of set up.
My specialty is spontaneous shots.

Christmas Cards Three

This is one of about 12 cards in a series that I
created for a client for their Christmas cards.
Creating a large series allowed them to
send special cards to everyone on their list.
They were able to tailor their cards more.

Chirstmas Card Two

This is a second Christmas card
that I designed.

Christmas Cards One

This is one Christmas card that I
created. All the photographs in this series are my own.
The client wanted a card with a country home feel.

Here is a picture that I edited for my
sister after she had my new niece.

Here is the much awaited excerpt from my truck brochure. This is half of a page layout for the Chevy Silverado. This is my photography with my copy attached. I would buy this truck based on this brochure!
Isn't it fun to show people great things through design?

Truck brochure

This is the cover for my truck brochure. This brochure is filled with my photography and my creativity. Two of my passions combined.
This is just the beginning of a great brochure.
Stay tuned for excerpts of the rest of the project.

Bemidji Recruiting Poster

This poster was created in a small group to
advertise the Design Technology program
at Bemidji State University. Our main target group was of course high school juniors and seniors looking at their future.
Wouldn't you notice this poster hanging amongst other recruiting posters? So would I!

Magazine Ad

Here is a sample for another
project.
We were given a picture of a
Winnebago and a picture of
the outdoors and we needed to
merge the two together to make
an ad.
I enjoyed coming up with a fun
tag line and copy to fit the target
audience.
Design is GREAT!

Billboards

Here is a sample created for a class.
The project was to create a set of billboards
that would work in the area and out of the
area to draw people to the local casino.
My partner and I had a great time putting
these billboards together.

Here is sample number 2 of my work for
my current company. This was created as a
poster and an invitation for a company picnic.
It was sent out to all employees in the company.

Safety Poster

Here is a sample of work that I did for my
current company. I have had the opportunity
to create several posters during my current
position. I LOVE working in design. I hope to
be able to design for a living because it doesn't
feel like work to me.
