Waitin' in the Wings

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and I hope that everyone has HUGE plans for New Year's. I don't as usual.... sad.. but true. I am boring even though I wish I weren't.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am still out here.

I have been wearing some semi cute outfits (WAY cute for me!) but do to time constraints... and being stuck at work for an extra 1.5 hours on Wednesday(was supposed to be heading to the rents house and the weather was starting to get bad!!!)

I am going to try to get back into the swing of things but I must admit that work is hampering my blog in so many ways......

#1 It is COLD in my office most days. Like I am a short sleeve shirt girl but I need a tank, tee, long sleeve tee, and a sweatshirt or sweater cold. This is not conducive to cuteness in my closet!!!!

#2 I am not soo happy with some things in my work... this makes me in turn not soo happy in my life.... which makes me less likely to dress cute.

#3 Some of my work is in a DIRTY environment. I mean I have worked in dirty before (jeans being ok) but this is a dirty environment that I am supposed to be presentable in. I HATE worrying about my clothes. I hate getting my nice clothes dirty.

#4 Some of my work is outdoors. BRRRRR!!!!!!!!

#5 I want to wear some fun stuff. I want to dress in jeans for a lot of my cute outfits but I can't wear jeans 90% of the time and then the rest of the time I just want a sweatshirt to (warm up, relax, walk the dog, casual things up).

#6 I give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There, that's things!

I will be back with an outfit post soon. And to show you some of the awesome prezzies Santa left. Santa done gooooooooooodddddd.

Thanks for hanging out.

I LOVE YOU GUYS! Yep, I said it. I would much rather hang with my readers than a lot of things that I do get to do.

Anyone want to do a meet up in Minneapolis/St. Paul area?

Passionate Fashion - Black Sheen

I love a little sparkle and shine in my life. I am learning that my winter wardrobe is blah. There are a lot of dark colors and not enough long sleeves. I can't win. Last year I was looking for more blazers for suits. This year I would love to have more sweaters for warmth and yet being casual comfort.

My new difficulties in dress include:
Dressing in nice clothes for marketing but junky clothes for sales work in the back rooms... DUSTY DUSTY backrooms
Dressing in nice clothes and climbing in and out of cars and around them to take pictures
Dressing for indoors and out in hot and cold weather
A cold, cold office

Boy, did I have it easy two years ago. I could wear jeans every day. I could wear nicer clothes when I wanted... most of the time. My office wasn't horribly warm or cold.

Jeans daily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Passionate Fashion - Boring Preppy

A sweater and some khakis. Pretty boring and preppy to me and at the same time I like it!

Tommy Hilfiger Sweater
Maurices Khaki Cords
Pink Mossimo Snakeskin Pumps (thrifted)
Kenneth Cole Belt - via Marshall's

Passionate Fashion - Sleek Monotone

I love how putting together a black sweater with a black skirt isn't boring when you add a turquoise scarf, gray tights, and my zippered peeptoe platforms.

I must admit this is one of the first times I wore my fun shoes without covering them up with pants legs. I tend to wear the shoes but not let everyone see them. My little secret.

One guy saw my shoes and told me that he LOVED them. He said they were, "quite the shoe."

It was funny to see this guys reaction to my shoes. I mean I had never even met this guy, he did NOT look like a shoe or fashion liker much less lover, and he was very excited about the shoes.

Maybe that helps explain that even my husband said he likes them. I thought he was just humoring me. Maybe he does like them... even a little. I LOVE THEM!

Boot Lust Review & New Lust

These are my expensive boots that I was lusting about in my previous boot lust post.

My awesome husband allowed me to order both pairs so I could choose my favorite as my Christmas present. I was super excited to order the boots and couldn't wait for them to arrive. Endless.com was awesome as they were having a sale and they have the awesome free shipping and free returns.

Sadly, I needed the shipping both ways.

I had been lusting after the grayish boots (in black... not in my size) for quite a while. At more than $400 I was not going to purchase them. The brown boots were listed at more than $200 or $300 which is out of my price range as well. My sister found out that endless.com was having a sale and helped me talk my husband into a GREAT Christmas present.

I had a HARD time pressing the order button on a basket this expensive, but I was still super excited for them to appear at my door!

After trying both of the boots on, I decided that although I like the gray boots, I didn't like them $250 + love. They would have been my boots to keep for $80-$120 but that was it. I mean they were real leather which was awesome but I didn't feel that I loved them enough to worry about them constantly and wear daily. They were a bit tight around the calf for me. They were ok without jeans but even with leggings they were a bit tight. Still loved them, just not like a mother should love her child that she will feel the need to constantly watch over and never let them out of her sight.

(The brown pair was just too small.)

As sad as it was, I sent them down the road. Thanks Endless for your awesome service. Now can you send me these boots in a size 10 or 11?
Thanks!!

After having a bad day today, I am having a very hard time not shopping. Shopping makes me feel better.

Wait...
No....

I do not need to shop to feel better.

I have a great husband, and an awesome dog. We have a nice house and I get to drive a nice truck.

It's not helping that I feel a very strong... almost overpowering urge to have a pair of knee high boots.. thigh highs would be fun.... BOOTSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warm feet and great outfits. Ahhhhh the dreams.....

Giveaway Results

Readers-
I would like to say thanks to those of you who are reading this. I never thought I would end up with 50 followers but I have gotten that and exceeded it. At least for now.

In the same breath, only 4 people entered my giveaway... what's up with that? Not something that people want? I don't get it.

It's not me, it's not me!

K. Pep talk over. Sorry rough day here for me. Feeling a little down on myself.

Well, those of you who entered had a 1 in 4 chance to win and random.org chose:

#4 - Melanie

Honestly I did not set this up, but that's my sister!

I am glad for her as she is awesome and she deserves it. My sister has been a will power goddess and lost a bunch of weight in the last several months (a bunch!)... she is looking fabulous and she has been building a new, better wardrobe in her new size.

Better let me help you spend the gift card Sis!

Thanks to those of you who entered. I will try to think of another giveaway in the near future. Maybe more people will enter then?

Passionate Fashion - Cold Weather Trend

Are you seeing a trend with the coloring of my cold weather clothes? I tend to wear darker heavier colors.

I am learning that i do not have enough long sleeve shirts and that I don't love wearing long sleeve anything other than sweatshirts. This is not a good thing as my office sits at a chilly like 62 degrees with a steady breeze of cold air. (Maybe a bit of an exaggeration? I don't know but it is cold! I can't even type on my iphone because my fingers are too cold.

So here is another variation of my black and gray dress pant outfit.

Gray Shirt - Old Navy Outlet
White Teelet - Mia Bellina
Black Boots - via DSW
Necklace - Victor Rolf via Herbergers
Black Pants - Gap?

I am thinking about going back to short hair. What do you guys think?

Passionate Fashion - Black and White and Silver

Jeez it looks like I am brushing my teeth?!

I love how a little sparkle dresses up an outfit. This is basically a sweatshirt and black jeans. But I think it looks dressy... dressier?

I don't care I can be deluding myself. I am comfortable and dressy enough for wear I work. My boss tells me I look nice every other day or so.

Who can beat being a little rock and roll and dress enough for work. This is why I think jeans should be appropriate for work. I mean within reason, everything can be dressed up for work. Right? It's too bad that some people wreck it for the rest of us. Those people who abuse the jeans rule and those who are old school and think that jeans aren't nice enough.

I just have to make time to work in the back room and I can wear jeans pretty much whenever I want.

YAY!

Ruffly booties... part of my rock and roll outfit??? Haha I think that the gray color and the suede makes them fit the bill. Am I delusional again?

Boot Lust - The Letdown & New Lusts

The boots that I talked about here. I had physical cravings for the first boots on the list. They are so beautiful and fun. They are so practical (other than the price). They have a low heel so they are walkable. They are very versatile. They go with EvErYtHiNg! How could a black pair of boots not be?

The second pair of brown boots... almost equally as yummy. Those buckles, the height, the heel, the color... they are everything I am looking for. Something that I can wear on a daily basis for walking or work. Something that I can wear with skirts, dresses, jeans, and dress pants.

I have been jonesing for some new boots. I am trying to be smarter about my purchases, so I have been trying to find some boots that I can hang on to for more than a couple weeks or months.

My problem with those boots. My physical and mental yearning for these boots was slowed GREATLY by them costing $430 and $200+ dollars each.

I don't mind spending some money on my items but I don't think I am ready to stomach spending almost $5o0 dollars on a pair of boots. I don't WANT to spend that much money on them.

Ok.... thanks sis... thanks hubby... My sister found a 30 percent off coupon for the boots with free overnight shipping anddddddd free return shipping.

Really does that make it worth it? Enter hubby.... "If you want them, they can be your Christmas present."

REALLY??? Uh oh! My money minded man said to buy the boots?

So I did. Let me tell you, I had my heart in my throat as I pressed the purchase button.

I couldn't decide which boots so I ordered both... BOTH!.. to return one.

I got the boots and you can see what I think of them... but not quite yet. I have to upload the pictures for you!

For all my peeps!

I wasn't in a very good mood today but I know what always makes me feel better...

Passionate Fashion - Pleated?

I found these pants at the thrift store with the tags still on. They reminded me of Kyla from Blue Collar Catwalk. She had a pair of pants that were too big that she turned into a fashionable pair of high waisted pants.

I am not sure that it worked for me as a coworker asked me if I had lost a lot of weight since I bought them. Does that mean they are too big?

I didn't even try and I was suited up. Ah well, sometimes it works.

Boot Lust

I have a couple pairs of boots. I have black and I have brown. Both are about mid calf. One has a high heel, and one has a a thick chunky heel... I would love something taller. Something with a wedge heel or similar. I would love one of these. The top two are DROOL inducing and would be my first choices! Too bad #1 is more than $400. I don't think that is in the budget. #2 is still pretty spendy but since it is under $250 versus the $400 it is a bit more realistic. Considering how much where I get in my boots over the winter here in Minnesota, I think I would be willing to pay something like this for boots.

PLEASE! Size 10.5 or 11!!!! Thanks

Pretty please!

Passionate Fashion - Black to the setting sun

The weather here has been unseasonably warm. We don't have any snow yet! We have hardly even seen snow! I have been enjoying working with layers and getting extra wear out of my open shoes and heels. With a bad ankle, I have to be careful about my heels and ice. I hurt my ankle on flat floors. I don't need to slip on ice, that is what happened to get my ankle hurt in the first place.
