Frustration with Blogging

I hate that my last post posted to July 23 and not to July 31 as I told it to. Sorry for the inconvenience.

What I Wore - Simple

As you can tell, I am not an ACCESSORIES girl. I like to wear some items but I don't have to add them every day. I have been trying to use more accessories though, so I was hoping you could help me. What would you add to this outfit.

If you would like to make a polyvore or send me a picture or two or send me a few links that would be great. Let's see whose options fit ME but would add some ZING to this outfit. Hmmm... maybe I could come up with a giveaway? Maybe? Hmmm.....

I told a lady that I work with that I paid two fifty for these shoes and she flipped out about how much money people pay for shoes! I laughed and said two DOLLARs and fifty cents. OHHHHHH!!! She said.

What I Wore - Khaki and Purple

Why can't people tell you that your pleat is off by quite a bit in the back? Why? Is it like having something in your teeth?

I love the color combo of this outfit. The purple played off the khaki/gold very well. I loved the richness of it.

This is a fun combination to play with for me. My high school's colors were purple and gold. Now it is a challenge to make purple not seem like a high school reminder. I think this is a professional version of the color combo. Do you agree?

I was NEVER a gold girl, but lately I have been finding myself more drawn to it. I am still a silver girl at heart. Hence my wedding ring and engagement ring, but I have found a new love for gold in this necklace. I think it is because the gold goes well with my hair and skin tone this summer.

How about you? Silver or Gold?

What I Wore - Blue and Silky

This is my day to night look. Or something like that.
Suit by day. Fun by night.

I have had this dress in my closet for months now and that's a shame as it is soooooo beautiful. I decided that I was going to find a way to wear it! So here it is. I gathered the dress into a tail in the back and tucked that into my pants under my jacket. I wore this "shirt" under my jacket. It was very cool, professional, fun, and comfy.

If I had needed to I could have slipped the pants and jacket off and partied in the dress. How multi purpose is that! Recessionista fashion!

What I Wore - Peacockie

This week has been a pick a shirt and add black pants week. I just felt like wearing black pants. This is a good thing as I own about 10 pairs of black pants. Exaggeration? I am NOT sure. Since my pants were being so easy, I needed to do a little something extra on top. I bought this shirt on super sale a long time ago and never got around to wearing it. It is a very.. ummm... chesty keyhole tank. To make this work for work, I transformed it into a one shoulder top and layered it over a similar color blue shirt. Tada! Work appropriate and neat looking under a jacket!
YAY!

Dinner date with my husband at a small town restaurant.
I wore this out to eat for the first time in our new town. I wanted something cute and comfy but that I could casual down as I was pretty sure everyone else would be wearing jeans.

New Shoes

Two days ago I bought new shoes. Why you ask? I had to bring my favorite Naturalizers in to get new tips on them. I had already walked them off. I wear my Naturalizers almost daily when I am working as they are not only comfortable but they also, look nice and STAY ON! I can walk in them and my feet don't get sore. I have other comfortable shoes but none that I can match to my suits! I have so many shoes just chillin in my closet not getting any foot time because they are not professional enough.

SO I bought new shoes! They are pretty cool so far. I love that they are a COMFORTABLE 3 inch heel, that they are black and go with everything (although I really want the bronze too), they are a semi peep toe, and the bottoms are super rubber non slippy. YAY!

I let the guilt go. And I wore them to work today. They are pretty great.

My new shoes!

Guilt over purchases.... money doesn't buy the happiness I am searching for.

I love my husband and dog, my new house, and my truck.... I need to be happy with my wardrobe, gadgets, and my lot in life. This is what it is......

Sizing.. WHAT?

Ok guys... I don't know how many other people are having this problem, but at least I am not the only one.

I went into Old Navy the other day to kill some time. DUMB I know! But I tried a few things on and was unpleasantly? surprised to find that my normal size engulfed me. I tried about 3 things on. I think it was 2 shirts and a dress and in all of the items, the arm holes were enormous, the fit was huge, and the necklines were navel lines. What is going on?

I am not the only one to notice this. Style Klutz mentions it here.

Anyone else notice this... vanity sizing change... mixed up labels... ummm sizing snafu?

NOTHING in my size!

Here's my rant. I am not a dainty little bean. Most days I would not want to be. When you find something cute on sale does it really seem to be in larger sizes?? NO!!!

What I Wore - Plaid not bad

I am going through my old outfits that I haven't posted. Here's a taste of what you missed... or didn't.

I thrifted this plaid blazer while shopping with my mom and sister. When I picked it out, my mom made a face and said, " REally?". I was like, " Really!". I tried the jacket on and loved it. My mom always used to pick out patterns that I DID NOT like. Now it seems like I pick similar patterns that my mom used to pick. Poor mother. I just didn't appreciate fashion back then but I think I am making up for lost time.

As my niece would say, " What da heck"

What I Wore - Brown and Khaki

Brown and khaki. What fun... blah. Other than that, I don't mind this outfit. I am not sure what is up with my hair though.

These pants are one of about 7 that I miss getting to wear. I don't get to wear them for work as they are not dressy enough to be suited but they aren't my weekend denim either. I know that I could wear something other than denim on the weekend, and sometimes I do but I don't get to wear my jeans either so that is my priority. I spent more on the jeans and I WUV them more.

What I Wore - Happiness

This was just a good day for me. This is what I wore for work on a Friday a while back. I was comfortable but presentable and very happy to be wearing my denim.

Jeans- Seven For All Mankind via Nordstroms
Shirt- Foxcroft via Nordstrom's
Black Tank with sparkles - thrifted
White Tube Top- Victoria Secret and MIA since this wearing!!!!!! It's FIRST wearing!!!!
Tan heels - Payless

What I Wore - Tank and Jeans

Not sure what the scary face is for...

I must say that I LOVE this tank top. I have it in both gray and coral. It is great for layering and super comfy. If you are looking for something similar I got it at New York and Co.

This is my SOLE pair of light colored denim jeans. I swear I have 30 some pairs of jeans (about) and I have only ONE pair of light denim ones.

I think this outfit would have benefited from....
a scarf and a belt
cute shoes
a cardigan
????

Do you have light colored jeans? What do you pair them with the most? Help me with some inspiration please. If some one can wow me, I will try to mimic their outfit with mine. Boy that sounds like a challenge, if only I had something to give away. Hmmm....

Coral Tank - New York and Co.
Light Jeans - American Eagle

What I Wore - Pink Skirt and Sparkles

More of my thrifted items appear in this outfit. The white shirt is a thrifted item. It has sparkles along the vneck. Sparkles? SOLD! The pink skirt you have seen before, but it is also a thrifted item. I think the Old Navy tank top and the shoes are the expense parts of the outfit at $6 and $14 dollars each.

I still can't believe that I am a skirt and dress girl.

Tank - Old Navy
White Shirt - Thrifted
Skirt - Thrifted
Shoes - Mudd via Famous Footwear
Belt - Kenneth Cole via Marshall's

What I Wore - Super Casual Salute

Promise not to kick me out of the fashion blogosphere for this one?

This is my tribute to my cuz! He gave me the shirt off his back (literally) when I first met him. Long story on meeting him... I was about 18 or so at the time??? We took to each other immediately it was like we had known each other forever and not for a weekend.

This shirt is a constant reminder of him whenever I decide to wear it. Mainly I wear it to sleep in or hang out in on the weekend.

I think I was getting some things done around the house when I took the picture. I am not sure why or what the "pose" is about. Just thought I would share.

Most of my tshirts that I have kept for meaning are part way to being a memories tshirt blanket and I made one into a messenger bag. Do you have any clothes for sentimental reason? What do you do with your "memories"?

What I Wore - Girl in a Red Dress

I am in LOVE with this dress. I love the fabric, I love the color, I love the feel, I even LOVE the cut. Oh yeah. I LOVE the price. I think I paid about... 20 cents give or take. I stuffed it in my $2/bag thrift store purchase. When I found the dress, I didn't think much of it but I am glad that I tossed it in the bag. I was more excited about the leather jacket for my husband and the awesome motorcycle boots that I got. Since my husband doesn't like the jacket even though he looks awesome in it and it is too warm for the boots (and I need to get inserts for them) I am going to spend my time thinking about and wearing this dress!

I thought this silhouette would not work on me. THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD TRY NEW THINGS!

Of course, because I love this dress my pen bubbled ink out of it onto the skirt of the dress! Never fear. I was able to blot the majority of the ink out. Can you find the ink spot?

I asked my mom if she can copy this dress for me. Wish me luck!
