Me Most of the Time
I am a casual cat. I tend to get dressed up for work. That is about it. This is what I look like on the weekends. And standing in front of OUR NEW HOUSE! Yay! We are mostly moved in and loving it. Decorating is fun. Even with no budget.
White Tank- Old Navy
Red Striped Shirt - Target
Jeans- American Eagle
Belt- Kenneth Cole.... I always say Diesel... when I say Diesel it is also this Kenneth Cole belt. (Weird)
Shoes - CROCS! AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Yes I said it... I wear crocs. I have TWO pairs. I don't have any of the originals. I have a wedge heel version and a mary jane version.
P.S. I made the chair! Thanks high school shop class!

Thrift Jacket Exploration
How many suit jackets fit in a paper bag?
My mother thrifted these suits for me the other day. I was crying.. YES crying over the fact that I now have to wear a suit to work daily. Since I made the move to our new area, I have been slowly (and quickly lol) adding city appropriate clothing to my closet. With the new workload that I have, not a promotion (no raise or title), I will now be required to wear suits daily. I HATE suits. I know they can work, but I struggle with them to no end. I have problems with lengths of pants and jackets. I have problems with rise of pants. I have problems with sagginess of pants. I have problems with buttons on jackets. I have problems with locked and loadedness of items under said jacket.
I struggle to find mix and match suits that fit that look nice together (and apparently that look professional enough). I struggle to find all together suits that fit me. I am a 10/12 on bottom when low rise. I am a 14/16 on bottom when high wasted. I am at least a 16/18 through the chest and I am somewhere inbetween everywhere else. I know the answer is to find something and tailer it but honestly I never take the time. I have every good intention but I don't so let's just leave it.
I hate suits. I feel more pulled together in a blazer and jeans. Why can't business be conducted in clothes like that? Do suits make you feel pretentious? Do they make you feel like the people you meet think you look down on them in their casual clothes? Do they make you look like you are playing dress up in your mother's clothes?
I HATE SUITS! Granted I can handle wearing them once in a while but EVERYDAY? I feel like I want to cry.
All the clothes that I have bought are basically garbage as I don't dress business casual on weekends. I do like to mix in some pieces but I have more than I can ever wear on weekends. Dressier is just not fitting for my casual weekend lifestyle.
Ok off the rant...
My mom thrifted me these suits so that I would have some options on what to wear. I am not sure about any of them. I think the black one feels big... anyone opinions? I think the middle one is great but since I can't button it does it count as a suit? The third one is too small. I don't think I can circle my shoulders.
Sorry mom I didn't take pics of the eighties jacket. I am a bit afraid of it honestly.
Let me know what you guys think. PLEASE!
Jacket One: A bit big?
Jacket Two: Won't button but still like it
Jacket Three: Toooooo small!?
What do you guys think?

Keeping the Dogs Happy
And when I say keeping the dogs happy... I mean my feet. Along with buying a new house, I have had a change in my job. I am spending a lot of time out and about rather than at my desk. In honor of this, I bought some new shoes. If I wasn't an advocate of Marshall's before, I would be now.
I bought these Naturalizer Akin's for like $29.99
I found them here on Zappos for $74.95.
These shoes have been perfect for 3 straight days of lots of walking. They look cute under suit pants, with a skirt, and I am trying out cropped pants tomorrow (I think).
I am undecided about the other pair. I also came across a pair of very similar Naturalizer shoes for a similar price. They felt like sneakers when I put them on! But they were white. I am not sure how much use I would get out of the white shoes. Do you wear white shoes? What do you wear them with? What don't you wear them with? Can you dress them up with a suit? HELP!

Whoa!
The Budget Babe posted about these shoes. I need to share! They are awesome... but Jenna you say. You need work shoes. To that I must respond. Yeah yeah... I know (insert resigned and dejected sigh here.)

Sunglasses
Do you ever have enough pairs of sunglasses? In the previous 4? posts, I am wearing 3 different pairs of glasses. The white and black ones... were eaten. The metal aviators are a little bent but wearable. The black with BLING glasses are alive and kickin'. The black ones were are my new replacement pair. I will try to get a picture soon. Oh Fleet Farm. How can I not love that you have rockin' glasses for about $15!

Work, Work, Work
I have been taking outfit pictures and I will be showing you them when I get a chance. Things are mega busy in a good way right now. We are closing on a house a week from Thursday so there is A LOT of packing to be done plus things are picking up for me at work. More responsibility for me and an exciting opportunity.
In the mean time when I can't BUY things (semi self imposed, we are buying a house, need to hold onto money ban?) I keep finding reasons to buy things and clothing items that I NEED for work.
As I am in marketing, my face is the company's face. That means a lot, especially in this current (cough crappy) market.
Don't you think that I NEED these to help me look professional without sweltering in my all black pants suit?
Click on the dresses for links to these items.
Almost all are via Nordstroms.

Favorites
Have I said lately that I LOVE this cardigan!? I LOVE it. My Target cardigan was a thrift store find. Along with the Ralph Lauren Jean Jacket that I am wearing. My other favorite item of this outfit? My necklace as a bracelet! My mom bought this necklace a while ago and since she never wore it, I talked her into giving it to me. I have worn it A LOT lately. I LOVE THE NECKLACE! Thanks MOM!

Thrifting Skirt
I found this skirt at goodwill a couple weeks ago for $3.99. I LOVE IT! When I first bought the skirt the waistband didn't work for me. Since then I have been waiting to fix the waistband. It has been torture watching my skirt sit on the fix it pile. (Something is wrong with my sewing machine.) I finally just said forget it! I am wearing it broken! SO here is my awesome skirt! Add another pencil skirt to my weardrobe.
On a side note, I might as well be on a shopping ban like everyone else. I have bought VERY little lately as we are within 20 days of closing on our new house!
Just because I said I haven't bought much, this shirt and tank are new... oops. I said ALMOST nothing new!
I want to canvas this picture and hang it on my wall. Sad?
Here is my solution to the broken skirt. I used the belt from a swimsuit to hold up my skirt under my shirt.
Check out the awesome texture/fabric on this skirt!!!!! LOVE LOVE!!!

Coral Tank- New York and Co.
Necklace - New York and Co. (hmmm I think I like that store?) $4.00
