This was such a fun outfit but....
Several people told me that I looked cute in this outfit which was awesome because I love this outfit and I felt good in it! I loved the colors of the teal and the brown together. I loved that this shirt so closely matched my skirt. (You know I love a good matchy match.)
This outfit made me smile as I walked around work. The skirt makes a soft swishy feeling and has a bit of a twirl to it and (sigh) this shirt is fitting better that it was last July YAY!
Not cool though when your boss calls you to their office and tells you how cute you look and then proceeds to lay you off. Ugh! I understand that she was being nice and that it had to be done but... I don't know that I can love this outfit the same for a bit. We will see how I feel the next time I try to wear this outfit.
Now for the test. How do you remix something like this? Suggestions please!
Sorry for the shot. I had C take my picture before work which worked out great as I was tired, had crying eyes, and a headache by the time I got home from work but the lighting and myself are a bit off in the morning.
Shirt - Ann Taylor Loft
Skirt - thrifted
Shoes - (I wore some. Honestly!)

I'm so sorry to hear about your layoff, that sucks!
On a happier note, remixing: maybe brown tights and brown knee high boots or maryjanes with the skirt for the cooler months? Or maybe with a long cardigan belted at the waist. Also, the top would be cute with cuffed jeans, heels, a blazer and some chunky jewelry.
Sorry to hear about your layoff. Sometimes it sounded like you weren't that happy there.. so I hope the next job is exactly what you were after.
As for the skirt, I was thinking a brown as well.. or that outfit with really chunky dark brown beads and brown boots.
You could go a plain white crisp shirt as well and throw some wild shoe colour into the mix? I remember seeing someone do teal & read really well together.
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about the lay-off. I'm sure it will all work out for the better but that doesn't change that it feels awful right now. I'm sure you will pull through this though! Hang in there!
Oh, so sorry about your layoff!
Yes very sorry to hear about your job. And yes you do look very cute in this outfit. I would maybe try a white tank or top under a denim jacket and the skirt. Also a pop of yellow would be fun to add to this outfit.
